The Whole Torah is in the New Testament
The modern-day Christian church teaches that the only commandments that we must obey are the ones repeated in the New Testament, despite Paul telling us that all scripture (including the Torah) is valid instruction for us.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Just the same, we have learned in the two-part series on the Great Commandments, that the entire Torah has been repeated in the New Testament.
The Torah consists of two Great Commandments, which are specifically stated in the New Testament.
Matthew 22:37-40 And Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” On these two commandments all the Law and the Prophets hang.
The two Great Commandments contain all of the ten commandments, every one of which is either listed or shown to be observed in the New Testament.
The ten commandments contain sixty-eight individual instructions for how to obey them. Most of these instructions are either specifically repeated or shown to be observed in the New Testament, or they are somehow updated for the change in culture or technology. Those “updates” do not void or change the nature of the instruction and are still the how to for obeying the commandment that they are under. Some of the instructions have not been repeated, however, they are still covered by the commandment they are under. An example of this is beastiality: no New Testament author specifically said not to have sex with an animal, yet we still know we are not to do it because it is sexually immoral, by the definition given in the Torah.
The Torah is the Love of YHWH
Obedience to the Torah is how YHWH wants us to love Him.
1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy.
And Yeshua Messiah Himself instructed us to obey YHWH’s Torah.
Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in Your Name, and in Your Name cast out demons, and in Your Name do many works of power? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, those working lawlessness!
John 14:21-24 He that has My commandments and keeps them, it is that one who loves Me; and the one that loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and will reveal Myself to him. Judas, not the Iscariot, said to Him, Lord, what has happened that You are about to reveal Yourself to us and not at all to the world? And Jesus answered and said to him, if anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him. And We will come to him and will make a dwelling-place with him. The one who does not love Me does not keep My words—and the word which you hear is not Mine, but of the Father who sent Me!
And Yeshua says that all of the Torah will remain until the end of His thousand-year reign, when all the prophecies have been fulfilled, heaven and earth pass away, and the dead are raised to Judgment. He says that the one who obeys the Torah, and teaches others to obey the Torah, will be great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 5:17-19 Do not think that I came to annul the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill. Truly I say to you, Until the heavens and the earth pass away, in no way shall one iota or one tittle pass away from the law until all comes to pass. Whoever then shall break one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of the Heavens.
Anyone saying that we are not to be obeying the Torah is calling Yeshua Messiah a liar. Obedience to Torah may not be required for Salvation for those who disobey through ignorance, but for those who know better disobedience is death.
Hebrews 10:26-29 For if we are willfully sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the Truth, there remains no more sacrifice concerning sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and zealous fire being about to consume the adversaries. If anyone did not regard the Law of Moses, that one dies without pity on the word of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment do you think he will be thought worthy to receive having trampled on the Son of God, and having counted the blood of the covenant in which he was sanctified common, and having insulted the Spirit of Grace?
Just because obedience to the Torah may not be required for Salvation does not mean we should dismiss it as unimportant.
Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God which brings Salvation appeared to all men, instructing us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly and righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself on our behalf, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify a special people for Himself, zealous of good works.
Since when is doing the bare minimum acceptable? Disobeying the commandments of YHWH is sin; our sin is why Yeshua had to be crucified. Did His death on the cross mean so little that we should just go on sinning because we can? Why would we want to put out the least amount of effort necessary to achieve Salvation, instead of showing YHWH how much we love Him and appreciate the sacrifice made on our behalf? The more we love YHWH our Elohim, the greater our place in the hierarchy of the Kingdom of Heaven!
Stumbling Blocks to Obedience
Using “traditional Christian values” as a guideline, we separated the sixty-eight instructions from the Torah into two categories: those Christian’s generally agree to obey and those Christians generally do not agree to obey. We think you will be surprised by the results.

Generally Do Not Agree to Obey
- Learn YHWH’s commandments and teach them to your children and others
- Obey YHWH’s commandments
- Do not add to or take away from Torah
- Wear Tzit-tzits
- Care for YHWH’s temple (our bodies) as He instructed
- Rest on the seventh day
- Keep YHWH’s Appointed Times
- Keep YHWH’s sabbaths
- Do not have sex with a menstruating woman
- One who seduces a maiden must marry her if she chooses
The reason mainstream Christians stumble over the Law to the point that they refuse to follow it is because they are ignorant in the Law and the Prophets. They simply have no idea what the Torah says because they have never read it. “Traditional Christian values” already have them obeying YHWH’s instructions fifty-eight to ten. However, the Torah is all-or-nothing, which means to disobey one command is to disobey all of the commands.
James 2:10-13 For whoever shall keep all of the Law, but stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all. For He who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” But if you do not commit adultery, but commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law. So speak and so do as being about to be judged by the Law of Liberty. For Judgment will be without mercy to the one not doing mercy. And mercy rejoices over judgment.
So what is it in those ten instructions that has Christians stumbling over them? Let’s take a closer look at them to see.
There are only two on the list that are under the Second Great Commandment, and they are debatable in that we figure most Christians would actually have no problem obeying them.
- Do not have sex with a menstruating woman: Honestly, we figure most people don’t anyways.
- One who seduces a maiden must marry her if she chooses: Most Christians agree that premarital sex is wrong, but they may have a problem with the shotgun wedding thing, so we added this to the Do Not Agree to Obey list.
This leaves the other eight commandments and instructions, which are all under the First Great Commandment. The First Great Commandment is to Love YHWH, which YHWH defines as obeying His commandments, and these are the instructions Christians struggle with most!
The first three are related to the Torah as a whole; we will set them aside for now and focus on the other five specific instructions. If we can overcome the objections to these five, the first three will follow.
- Wear Tzit-tzits.
- Tzit-tzits are tassels worn on the corners of your clothing to remind you to obey YHWH’s commandments. Yeshua wore tzit-tzits on His clothing as indicated in Mark 6:56 and Luke 8:44. The word “Christian” means Christ follower, as followers of Christ are we not to follow His ways?
- Mark 6:56 And wherever He went into villages or cities or fields, they laid the ailing ones in the markets, and begged Him if only they may touch the fringe (tzit-tzits) of His garment. And as many as touched Him were healed.
- Luke 8:44 coming up behind, she touched the border (tzit-tzits) of His garment. And instantly the flow of her blood stopped.
- Both “fringe” and “border” in these verses are translations of the Greek word for tzit-tzits.
- Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) is the Word of YHWH. The Law and the Prophets (Scripture) are also the Word of YHWH. Therefore, Yeshua Messiah is the Law and the Prophets (the Word) in the flesh, as indicated in John 1:14. Yeshua is YHWH’s commandments, which means wearing tzit-tzits is to remember Yeshua Messiah. Christians wear many symbols to remind them of Yeshua: crosses, crucifixes, fish, WWJD bracelets, etc. But they will not wear the one thing that YHWH commanded them to wear?
- John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, glory as of an only-begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
- Refusing to obey such a simple instruction from YHWH seems petty. Considering the Blood of the Lamb spilled on our behalf, the ultimate price paid for our sin, wearing tzit-tzits seems a minute price for us to pay in return. Wearing tzit-tzits is a simple way to say thank you.
- Care for YHWH’s temple (our bodies) as He instructed.
- Following YHWH’s instructions on how He wants us to take care of His temple, means following His dietary restrictions and hygiene instructions. Our bodies are no longer our own, they were bought with Yeshua’s blood and now belong to YHWH. It seems reasonable that He would have some rules for how we care for His temple, where He resides as the Holy Spirit.
- 1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God; and you are not of yourselves? For you were bought with a price; then glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are of God.
- We are to keep His temple holy, pure, and healthy. YHWH has instructed us to do this by keeping clean, taking care when we are ill, and only eating the things He has deemed food. Please see our study on YHWH’s dietary restrictions for specific instructions on what is food and what is not food.
- 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone corrupts the temple of God, God will bring that one to corruption; for the temple of God is holy, which you are.
- Peter makes in clear that he was still keeping YHWH’s dietary restrictions long after Yeshua had ascended. If Yeshua had made all animals clean for eating, as mainstream Christianity claims, then Peter would be contradicting Yeshua and even calling Him a liar!
- Acts 10:14 But Peter said, Not at all Lord, because I never did eat anything common or unclean.
- Giving up bacon seems such a small price to pay to show our appreciation for the ultimate price that Yeshua Messiah paid on our behalf. Wouldn’t you agree?
- Following YHWH’s instructions on how He wants us to take care of His temple, means following His dietary restrictions and hygiene instructions. Our bodies are no longer our own, they were bought with Yeshua’s blood and now belong to YHWH. It seems reasonable that He would have some rules for how we care for His temple, where He resides as the Holy Spirit.
- Rest on the seventh day.
- YHWH said the sabbath was given to us so that we can rest, because we need to rest! He blessed the sabbath day and made it set-apart forever!
- Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy; six days you shall labor and do all your work; and the seventh day is a sabbath to YHWH your God; you shall not do any work, you, and your son, and your daughter, your male slave and your slave-girl, and your livestock, and your stranger who is in your gates. For in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all which is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; on account of this YHWH blessed the sabbath day and sanctified it.
- Exodus 23:12 You shall do your work six days, and on the seventh day you shall rest, so that your ox and your ass may rest, and the son of your slave-girl and your alien may be refreshed.
- Leviticus 23:3 Work is to be done six days, and in the seventh day shall be a sabbath of rest, a holy gathering; you shall do no work; it is a sabbath to YHWH in all your dwellings.
- Yeshua Messiah told us that the sabbath was a gift to us from YHWH, why would He take back such a precious gift?
- Mark 2:27-28 And He said to them, The sabbath came into being for man’s sake, not man for the sabbath’s sake. So then the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath also.
- Men decided to change the day of rest given to us by YHWH Elohim from the seventh day to the first day, this is a fact. They decided that they had the authority to change YHWH’s Appointed Times and Laws. What does Scripture tell us about changing YHWH’s Appointed Times and Laws that are given to us in the Torah?
- Deuteronomy 12:32 All the things that I command you, take heed to do them, and you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
- Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
- Scripture teaches against changing the commands of YHWH to obey the traditions of men. In prophecy we find a description of modern-day Christianity that is startling in its accuracy.
- Isaiah 29:13 And the Lord says, Because this people draws near with its mouth, and they honor Me with its lips; but its heart is far away from Me; and their fear of Me is taught by the commandment of men.
- Mark 7:2-9 And seeing some of His disciples eating bread with unclean hands, that is unwashed hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash the hands with the fist, holding the tradition of the elders. And coming from the market, they do not eat unless they wash themselves. And there are many other things which they received to hold: washing of cups, and of utensils, and of bronze vessels, and couches. Then the Pharisees and scribes questioned Him, Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands? And answering He said to them, Well did Isaiah prophecy concerning you, hypocrites; as it has been written: “This people honors Me with the lips, but their heart is far away from Me; and in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” For Forsaking the commandments of God, you hold the tradition of men: washings of utensils and cups, and many other such like things you do. And He said to them, Do you do well to set aside the commandment of God so that you may keep your tradition?
- Colossians 2:8 Watch, that there not be one robbing you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.
- The modern-day Christian church says they follow the examples and instructions given in the New Testament, but do they really? The early church rested on the sabbath, and studied the Torah in the synagogues—both Jews and Gentile believers.
- Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue on every sabbath persuading both Jews and Greeks.
- Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day, according to the commandment.
- YHWH gave man the precious gift of a rest on the seventh day; and man, like the stubborn, spoiled, petulant, rebellious child he is, folded his arms across his chest and stomped his foot, and said, “No! I’m going to rest on the first day instead!”
- YHWH said the sabbath was given to us so that we can rest, because we need to rest! He blessed the sabbath day and made it set-apart forever!
- Keep YHWH’s Appointed Times.
- YHWH gave us appointed times that we are to celebrate as memorials and as shadows of coming things. He commanded us to do this forever.
- Leviticus 23:4 These are the appointed seasons of YHWH, holy gatherings which you shall proclaim in their appointed seasons
- Exodus 12:14 And the day shall be a memorial for you. And you shall celebrate it as a feast to YHWH for your generations. You shall celebrate it as a law forever.
- Yeshua and the disciples all kept YHWH’s Appointed Times.
- Matthew 26:17 And on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, Where do you desire we should prepare for You to eat the Passover?
- John 2:13 And the Passover of the Jews was near. And Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
- John 2:23 And as He was in Jerusalem, at the Passover, at the Feast, many believed into His name, seeing the miracles which He did.
- 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Therefore, purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us. So let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and of evil, but with unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
- Acts 2:1 And in fulfilling the day of Pentecost, they were all with one mind in the same place.
- Acts 20:16 For Paul had decided to sail by Ephesus, so as it might not happen to him to spend time in Asia; for he hastened if it were possible for him to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.
- 1 Corinthians 16:8 But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost.
- Acts 27:9 And much time having passed, and the voyage already being dangerous, because the Fast (Day of Atonement) already had gone by, Paul warned them, saying, Men, I see that the voyage is about to be with injury, and not only much loss of the cargo and of the ship but also of our souls.
- John 7:2 & 10 And the Jewish Feast of the Tabernacles was near. […] But when His brothers went up, then He also went up to the feast—not openly, but as in secret.
- Acts 18:20-21 And they asking him to remain over a longer time with them, he did not agree; but took leave of them, saying, I must by all means keep the coming feast at Jerusalem; but I will come again to you, God willing. And he sailed from Ephesus.
- The modern-day Christian church says that we are to emulate how Yeshua and the disciples lived, but then teach against keeping YHWH’s Appointed Times as Yeshua and the disciples modelled.
- We are supposed to keep YHWH’s Appointed Times as a memorial of past events and as a reminder to be looking ahead to the events that are yet to come.
- YHWH gave us appointed times that we are to celebrate as memorials and as shadows of coming things. He commanded us to do this forever.
- Keep YHWH’s sabbaths.
- YHWH’s sabbaths are not just the weekly seventh day. As we see, they also include the rest days during His Appointed Times, the seventh year rest and release, and the jubilees.
- Leviticus 26:2 You shall keep My sabbaths and revere My Holy Place; I am YHWH!
- Deuteronomy 15:1-4a At the end of every seven years you shall make a release. And this is the manner of the release: Everyone who has a loan to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor and his brother, because a release has been proclaimed for YHWH. You may exact it from a foreigner, but your hand shall release whatever is yours with your brother, except when there shall be no one in need among you. For YHWH will greatly bless you in the land that YHWH your God is giving you for an inheritance, to possess it,
- Deuteronomy 15:9 Beware that there is no evil thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release draws near; and your eye be evil against your needy brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to YHWH against you, and it be sin to you.
- Deuteronomy 31:10-12 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of seven years, in the appointed time, the year of release, in the Feast of Tabernacles, when all Israel comes in to see the face of YHWH in the place which He chooses, you shall proclaim this law before all Israel, in their ears. Assemble the people, men and women, and the little ones, and your alien who is within your gates, so that they may hear, and so that they may learn, and may fear YHWH your God, and take heed to do all the words of this law.
- We already established in the previous two instructions, why we should be keeping YHWH’s sabbaths and His Appointed Times. This instruction is just a continuation of them.
- YHWH’s sabbaths are not just the weekly seventh day. As we see, they also include the rest days during His Appointed Times, the seventh year rest and release, and the jubilees.
Now that we’ve overcome the objections to obeying those five instructions from the Torah by demonstrating that Yeshua and the disciples obeyed them, let’s go back and look at the first three instructions that we had set on the back burner.
- Learn YHWH’s commandments and teach them to your children and others.
- The New Testament repeatedly instructs us to repent of our sins.
- Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.
- Mark 1:15 And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, and saying, The time has been fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draws near. Repent and believe in the Gospel.
- Luke 15:10 So I say to you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner repenting.
- Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you on the name of Jesus Christ to the forgiveness of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow as to the promise, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any of us to perish, but all of us to come to repentance.
- How can you have sincere repentance if you do not know what sins you have committed? You cannot know your sins without first learning the Law, as sin is disobeying the Law. Without the Torah, we would not know what sin is and would be unable to repent.
- 1 John 3:4 Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
- Romans 3:20 Because by works of law no flesh will be justified before Him—for through law is full knowledge of sin.
- Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not, Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
- Yeshua first opened up the minds of the disciples to the Law and the Prophets, then He sent them out to preach the gospel.
- Luke 24:45-47 Then He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, So it has been written, and so it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and to rise from the dead on the third day; and repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached on His Name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
- The Law is how we can identify what is acceptable and unacceptable to YHWH. Having knowledge of the Torah means we can live lives that are pleasing to YHWH; and when we sin, we know to repent!
- The New Testament repeatedly instructs us to repent of our sins.
- Obey YHWH’s commandments.
- Disobedience to the Torah is the definition of sin, as we explained in our study What is Sin?. To know better than to sin, but sin anyways brings death in the Lake of Fire.
- Hebrews 10:26-29 For if we are willfully sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the Truth, there remains no more sacrifice concerning sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and zealous fire being about to consume the adversaries.
- Obedience to the Torah is what determines the hierarchy in the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who obey the Law and teach others to obey the Law will be great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Matthew 5:17-19 Do not think that I came to annul the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill.
- On the Day of Judgment, all those who believe in Yeshua Messiah will be raised to everlasting life because our names will be found written in the Scroll of Life. Those who are not found written in the Scroll of Life will be raised to judgment and death in the Lake of Fire. Believers will then face YHWH as He sits on His white throne and opens up the scroll that lists our works and we will be given our place in the Kingdom of Heaven based on our obedience to His Torah.
- Disobedience to the Torah is the definition of sin, as we explained in our study What is Sin?. To know better than to sin, but sin anyways brings death in the Lake of Fire.
- Do not add to or take away from the Torah.
- YHWH instructed us not to add to or take away from Torah, to do so is sin.
- Deuteronomy 12:32 All the things that I command you, take heed to do them, and you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
- Yeshua followed the Law perfectly, we know this because He is incapable of sin. To take-away from or add-to the Law is a sin; therefore, we know that Yeshua did not make any of YHWH’s commandments void nor did He make up any new ones. Yet mainstream Christianity accuses Him of both. Let me repeat that: Christians accuse Yeshua Messiah, the perfect unblemished Lamb who shed His blood to make atonement for our sins, of sinning! This is blasphemy. This is denying Yeshua is the Messiah. And what does scripture say about denying Yeshua is the Messiah?
- Matthew 10:33 But whoever may deny Me before men, I also will deny him before My Father in Heaven.
- Mark 8:38 For whoever may be ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father, along with the holy angels.
- 2 Timothy 2:12 If we endure, we also shall reign with Him. If we deny Him, that One will deny us.
- Titus 1:16 They profess to know God, but by their works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and reprobate to every good work.
- 2 Peter 2:1 But false prophets were also among the people, as also false teachers will be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, and denying the Master who has bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves.
- 1 John 2:22-23 Who is the liar, except the one denying, saying that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son. Everyone denying the son does not have the Father. The one confessing the Son also has the Father.
- YHWH instructed us not to add to or take away from Torah, to do so is sin.
To accuse Yeshua of disobeying the Torah is to accuse Him of sinning. And to accuse Him of sinning is to say He is not the Messiah, which is denying Yeshua is the Messiah.
We can see that these ten instructions became stumbling blocks for most Christians because of the false prophets of the early centuries, whose false doctrines caused the falling away from obedience that Paul spoke of in his letter to the Thessalonians.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, because that day will not come unless first comes the falling away, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
Interestingly, it was Paul’s writing style that gave the false prophets the opportunity to undermine YHWH’s authority. Paul’s way of wording his letters is confusing to those who are ignorant in the Law and the Prophets, just as we have shown Christians still are today, and this confusion allowed the false prophets to twist his words and caused the Church to fall away into the error of lawlessness. Peter warned the Church that this could happen, but they did not heed his warning.
2 Peter 3:15-17 And think of the long-suffering of our Lord as Salvation, as also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him; as also in all of his epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the unlearned and unsettled pervert, as also they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. Then beloved, you knowing beforehand, watch lest being led away by the error of the lawless you fall from your own steadfastness.
Accepting that we have been mislead may be uncomfortable, resting on Saturday may be inconvenient, and giving up bacon may be difficult, but they are all worth the effort to love YHWH how He wants to be loved!
The Torah in Salvation
On Judgment Day, all those in the grave will be resurrected to face Yeshua. Yeshua will open the Scroll of Life and only the names written on it will have eternal life.
Revelation 3:5-6 The one overcoming, this one shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not at all blot his name out of the Book of Life; and I will acknowledge his name before My Father, and before His angels. The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Revelation 21:27 And all profaning may not at all enter into it (New Jerusalem), or any making an abomination or a lie; but only the ones having been written in the Scroll of Life of the Lamb.
What does it take to be written in the Scroll of Life?
Psalm 69:28 Blot them out of the Book of Life; yea, let them not be written with the righteous.
1 John 4:14-17 And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God in him. By this, love has been perfected with us, that we have confidence in the day of judgment, that as He is, we are also in this world.

The Scroll of Life is the one that only the righteous are written in, which means those who have been justified by Yeshua Messiah. All those who did not believe in Yeshua Messiah have been blotted out of the Scroll of Life, and are therefore raised to judgment, which means they are thrown straight into the Lake of Fire. Whether or not they were obedient to Torah during their lifetime will not help them and is not even looked at on Judgment Day, because they are not written on the Scroll of Life.
Those who are written on the scroll of life will be resurrected to eternal life. The scroll that lists their lifetime of works will be opened as they stand before YHWH’s throne and their works are weighed.
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them. And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And scrolls were opened. And another Scroll was opened, which is the Scroll of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the scrolls, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and Hades gave up the dead in them. And they were each judged according to their works. And death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. And if anyone was not found having been written in the Scroll of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Your obedience to Torah determines where you are in the hierarchy of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Removing the Stumbling Blocks
Christians in the mainstream churches are so close, yet so far away, because to disobey one commandment is to disobey all of the commandments. All they need to change to be loving YHWH in the way that He wants to be loved is to add ten more instructions to their “traditional Christian values”. This seems like such a small gesture compared to what they will gain by loving YHWH and fully appreciating Yeshua’s sacrifice on the cross.
- Learn YHWH’s commandments and teach them to your children and others
- Obey YHWH’s commandments
- Do not add to or take away from the Torah
- Wear tzit-tzits
- Care for YHWH’s temple (our bodies) as He instructed
- Rest on the seventh day
- Keep YHWH’s Appointed Times
- Keep YHWH’s sabbaths
- Do not have sex with a menstruating woman
- One who seduces a maiden must marry her if she chooses
Please see our studies in Where to Go From Here to find directions for beginning a life in obedience to YHWH’s commandments.
